We present to you the best DIY peel off face masks, to give you that glowing skin, and make you all ready to rock the everyday life. These masks are an extremely effective and quick way to solve your face woes. But do you know what the best part is? You can create these with natural ingredients lying around at your place.

You might have heard of a few “peel-off” items getting popular in recent times, one such product catching up is the peel-off face mask. There are a plethora of peel-off face mask options available in the stores today. Choosing the right mask suitable to your facial needs could be a mind-boggling activity, and heavy on your pocket too. You might want to cash in on the benefits of a peel-off face mask, but you should understand that only a few such concoctions provide the best results. The masks available in the stores are heavy on chemicals and might harm your sensitive skin.

While we are busy in our lives, we tend to ignore our skin more often than we realize. Over time, our face develops blackheads and whiteheads due to a number of unavoidable environmental factors. A DIY peel-off face mask helps remove them, provides a soothing effect to blemishes and gets rid of dead cells. You can also use the mask to remove any unwanted facial hair. Once your skin is free of these undesired dwellers, it gets space to breathe and glows automatically.

So, what is holding you back now? Go ahead and try these easy steps for a DIY peel off face mask –

Step 1:

Use a face towel, dipped in warm water, to wipe off the dust from your face before applying any of these masks. Tie your hair back in a tight bun so that they don’t interfere with your mask.

Step 2:

Choose your base. For a peel-off mask, you can either use a regular glue base or an unflavoured gelatin base. This is an important ingredient, required to ensure that the mask stays on and dries after some time. While a glue-based mask can stick too tight, it is advisable to avoid it if you have sensitive skin. A gelatin base mask can be a little runny on the application, thus, make sure you apply it in plenty. It is a known fact that gelatin has a smoothening effect on the skin.

Step 3:

Choose your ingredients. Here are the five of the best formulas that work –

DIY Peel off Face Masks for Acne, Blackheads & Glowing Skin

1. Activated charcoal

If you are not looking for too much fuss, this is the simplest face mask you can make. Just add 1 tsp of activated charcoal to 1 tsp of regular glue and you are ready with the most basic yet effective mask. Add 1 tbsp of distilled water to improve consistency. Make sure you use a brush to apply it and avoid getting it on your eyelashes and eyebrow. Keep this mask for 20-25 minutes, or until it dries up. Use this mask to remove whiteheads and facial hair.

2. Egg White, Lemon Juice and Green Tea

An effective formula to sooth your skin, especially if it is acne-prone, is by using the following ingredients in 1 tbsp of unflavoured gelatin

  • ½ cup of green tea
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 egg whites

Apply it to your face in plenty and keep for 15 minutes. Start peeling off from the chin up, and remove the entire mask in one go.

3. Milk, Honey, and Tea-tree oil

If you desire instant glow and smooth skin, this combination is expected to work the best. The essential oil provides a cooling effect. Honey and milk in this mask locks moisture and provides nourishment if you have very dry skin. Add these ingredients to 1 tbsp of unflavoured gelatin

  • 2 tbsp hot milk
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 4 drops of tea tree oil

Make sure you don’t apply the mix to your eyebrows and use a brush for even application. Keep it for 30 minutes, or until your face tightens up. Pull gently from chin to upwards for the best result.

4. Turmeric powder and Mint

One of the best ingredients for healthy skin is turmeric, it is widely known for its antiseptic properties. Moreover, mint is soothing, and the combination of these two as a face mask can work wonders for blemished, acne prone skin

  • Boil water with 4-5 mint leaves in it, and let it cool down
  • Add 1 tbsp of turmeric powder and mix with 1 tbsp of gelatin

Ensure that the mix of turmeric and gelatin added to mint water is consistent enough for facial application. Apply with a brush and leave it to dry for about 20-25 minutes. Relax while you have this mask on, and gently remove it starting from your chin.

5. Orange and Tomato Juice

Tomato is known to have skin lightening effect and mixed with orange it can bring back the lost radiance to your skin. Add these ingredients to 1 tbsp of gelatin

  • 1 tsp. orange juice
  • 1 tsp. tomato juice

Try to avoid packaged juices for this preparation as they contain preservatives. Squeeze a fresh orange and tomato for this mixture, you can also save the remaining for later use. Apply it to the entire face, including the neck. You can peel off the neck part separate from your face, after 15-20 minutes of application.

Step 4:

Once you are done with peeling the mask off, avoid applying make-up or stepping out for another hour. As the mask leaves your skin pores open, it is better if you let yourself relax for a while.

A DIY peel off face mask is an easy and quick way to refresh, this is over and above its remedial actions on your skin. We don’t realize it, but every time we step out, our face attracts a lot of foreign particles which gets accumulated in our pores. Therefore, it is advised that you use such a face mask on a regular basis, preferably 2-3 times every week.

Wish you a happy skin!
