Bocouture

Our muscles are repeatedly contracted and relaxed, which leads to wrinkle formation. The situation is aggravated by the loss of collagen and elastin typical of the natural process of ageing. One of the best ways to cope with the problem is to resort to anti-wrinkle injections with the active substance called Botulinum Toxin A.

anti-wrinkle injection

The preparations containing Botulinum Toxin A are offered by several manufacturers and are known by different brand names. One of them is Bocouture produced by Merz (Germany). It is injected into the muscles and decreases their activity reducing fine lines and wrinkles. If you turn to this supplier Bocouture – Beauty Dermal, you can be sure that you will get the authentic product.

Some Background Information

The first information about botulinum toxin appeared in Germany in 1820. During the investigation of the death of several people it was discovered that the cause of their death was a toxin in sausage. The Belgian Dr. Emile van Ermengham was the first to identify the bacteria. It was only in 1944 that botulinum toxin was separated from the pure bacterial culture, and its ability to block neuromuscular transmission was revealed in 1949.

In the 1950s, scientists were studying this toxin and were looking for ways to use it. At that time, many experiments were carried out on animals and humans to reveal additional properties of botulinum toxin and to determine the limits of its effect on neuromuscular transmission. The substance was used for cosmetic purposes even at that time. It is known that it was with the help of botulinum therapy that the US president Ronald Reagan regained his young and cheerful appearance. In 1989, the American company Allergan acquired the right to produce botulinum toxin for the purpose of manufacturing a drug that will be used for the treatment of strabismus and relaxation of spasms of the eyeball muscles. That year Botox came into being.

A little later, in the 1990s, experts discovered some other important properties of botulinum toxin – suspension of hyperhydration and treatment of central paralysis.

As a cosmetic treatment botulinum toxin has been used since the publication of a study by the ophthalmologist Jean Carruthers and her husband (a dermatologist), which stated that in addition to the basic therapeutic effect botulinum toxin also significantly reduces the intensity of wrinkles. After relevant studies, in 2002, the use of botulinum toxin was approved by the FDA.

Bocouture Brand History

The history of the Bocouture brand started in 2008 under the name Xeomin. At first it was used to treat blepharospasm and cervical dystonia. Since 2010 the preparation has been widely used for cosmetic purposes, mainly to treat frown lines.

Being one of botulinum toxin type A brands, Bocouture is a really innovative formulation specifically developed for the use in aesthetic procedures, where complex proteins have been eliminated by means of intensive purification from botulinum toxin. Unlike other commercially available products, Bocouture contains pure 150 kD of neurotoxin.

It is widely believed that the bacterial protein content in other products plays an important role as an immune response stimulant, resulting in loss of effect and reduced duration of activity. Studies show that Bocouture with no complexing proteins has the lowest protein content and also proves that repeated use, even in high doses, does not cause the formation of neutralizing antibodies, therefore there is practically no likelihood of allergic reactions in patients.
