Food Habits

When you hit your 30s, you realize how important it is to be mindful of your food habits. You cannot keep on eating anything and everything. One can only consume so much junk food until his health is affected. If you have a fat belly and are overweight, you will most likely have a fatty liver. If you do not treat the condition, it can have a negative effect on your digestive system. You cannot go on carrying your lifestyle as if nothing has happened. It is high time that you lose those excess pounds and develop new habits. Continue reading this article to learn practical tips that will help you be more active and fit.

No Carbohydrates: The first and foremost thing you must learn about carbs is they are filler foods. This food group will make you feel full, but also make you fat over time. Carbohydrates also help increase your glucose level, which may lead to diabetes.

  • It will be hard to omit carbs from your diet at first. But once you conquer your inner saboteur, you will feel healthier. It is especially difficult for people who take rice and bread as their primary food items. For example, most Chinese and south Asian people eat rice as their staple food. They must find an alternative to rice, or else they cannot lose weight effectively.
  • Instead of eating a bowl of pasta, try a bowl full of nutritious salad that will make you full and keep you healthy. Fill your plate with fruits and green veggies so that you don’t crave carbohydrates. You may also try meal prepping to stay on the right track.

Intermittent fasting: Now that you mastered the art of not eating carbs, it is time to cut down on the number of meals. Previously, you ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner with snacks in between. From now on, you can only eat food two times a day: one is dinner at 7 pm in the evening and lunch at 1 pm in the afternoon. You must maintain a full 18 hours of gap between your two meals. This gap will help you burn your belly fat faster than you can imagine. It is time you learn how to reset your gut health. Once the liver is free of accumulated fat, you will feel much more active and free.

Regular Exercising: It is not enough to fast and maintain a diet. You must also exercise daily to get rid of the accumulated fat in your body. Walking and jogging are the best exercises to get rid of those excess pounds. You may even consider swimming as it allows your body to stretch out.

  • Get a gym membership and work under the supervision of a trainer who knows how to get you in shape quicker. If you are not accustomed to lifting weights, avoid lifting heavy weights in the first few months.
  • Install apps that remind you to take water at regular intervals. When you exercise, you tend to sweat a lot. Your body needs electrolytes when you sweat excessively. Therefore, take your medicines and electrolytes even when you are fasting.
