As a fruit topping, you can use frozen yogurt directly, but if you want to use it for a smoothie, you need to thaw and it is as simple as freezing. Just bring out the container from the freezer and place it in the refrigerator. You should be careful to not place it in room temperature as a sudden change in temperature can damage the texture and taste of the yogurt. Keeping it in the refrigerator for overnight can thaw it properly, however water from the yogurt may get separated upon thawing but simple stirring can serve the purpose and mix the ingredients again.

Freezing yogurt is the best option if you have bought a bulk of yogurt containers and you can use it in different ways. Even you can even eat frozen yogurt directly if the alteration in the taste, color, the texture does not bother you much.
